How much does it cost to hire the Studio?

Our studio is reasonably priced to hire with standard day rates starting at as little as £40/hour. We also offer discounts for students. Please use our contact form or email info@studio220bricklane.co.uk and we are happy to provide you with a quote. Our hire fee also includes use of all of our equipment and lighting.


What are the Studio dimensions and can I see a floor plan?

The approximate dimensions of the main studio shooting space are as follows -

  • Width: 15.75 ft / 4.8 m

  • Depth: 29.5 ft / 9 m

  • Height: 8 ft / 2.43 m

  • Floor area: 465 ft² / 43.20 m²

What amenities do you have?

When you hire the studio, you are hiring the entire basement floor for your own exclusive use. This includes -

  • STUDIO: A flexible blackout 465ft² Studio space for filming and photography with professional ARRI soft and hard LED lighting fixtures. The studio is air-conditioned and offers 12 ceiling mounted 13A Power Outlets, two additional wall mounted 13A Outlets and a single wall mounted 32A Outlet.

  • VIDEO VILLAGE: Integrated with the Studio you will find a practical spillover work space. Here you can make use of our complimentary grip equipment and consumables, as well as a desk with a Studio Director’s Monitor (SDI/HDMI in). There are also additional chairs for your clients to watch the production through the studio window.

  • DRESSING ROOM: We have a dedicated Dressing Room furnished with 2 professional make-up chairs (if you require more please request this in advance), make-up counter, 2 large mirrors with vanity lights and a private curtained changing area with full length mirror. We also provide a steam iron, clothes rail and coat hangers.

  • GREEN ROOM: There is a modern and comfy Green Room with sofas, a television, video games and magazines for your talent to relax in-between their call times.

  • KITCHENETTE: There is small kitchenette equipped with a sink, fridge, small freezer, kettle and plenty of crockery for cast and crew. We provide complimentary tea and coffee.

  • WC: The studio has toilet facilities located on the same floor.

What equipment do you have in the Studio?

In-House Lights:

Every booking includes full access to our in-house lighting, stands, grip equipment and consumables. This includes our ARRI® S60-C, S30-C Skypanels, L7-C Fresnel and Astera Titan Tubes.

Something Else:

If you require something else that is not on our Studio Equipment Lists we are happy to co-ordinate additional equipment hire from our trusted local suppliers and have them delivered to the studio ready for your shoot at cost.


What Casting Services do you offer?

We offer the following Casting packages;

Full Service: Studio + Receptionist; Camera and Operator; photo and video upload; and scanned headsheets.

Damp Hire: Studio + Receptionist.

Dry Hire: Studio.

Is there Internet Access?

Yes. We have complimentary Wifi across the entire Studio along with a fast Ethernet connection (500mb/s download, 35mb/s upload) through the Studio’s Mac Mini.


I have a special request, can you facilitate this?

We will always try our best to accommodate any special request that your shoot needs.

For example, if you require any additional equipment or Colorama backdrops ordered to the studio in time for your shoot, we can arrange this with one of the many local equipment hiring companies.

Is there Parking?

The nearest Car Parks are on Sclater Street (£5/hour or £20/day. Cash and weekdays only) and at The Old Truman Brewery Brick Lane Car Park (£15 per day for cars. £20 per day for vans).

On Saturdays there is free on street parking, however spaces are limited.

On Sunday there is a busy street market on Brick Lane so no parking is available.


Does the Studio have disabled access?

Unfortunately not, the Studio is located on the basement floor which can only be accessed via stairs.
